Chinese students advocate educational reforms to combat academic stress and loneliness fueled by competitive grading systems. Interviewees criticize excessive focus on credits, irrelevant courses, and packed schedules limiting social interaction. Some suggest surveys and communication skill programs to bridge social gaps, whilesomeurgecutting redundant academic tasks to free students’ time. Both highlight how singular academic priorities weaken peer connections and mental health.
