U.S. Returns 41 Cultural Artifacts to China
On March 3, the National Cultural Heritage Administration of China received 41 repatriated artifacts from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in New York. The collection, including jade, ceramics, bronzes, and sculptures, spans multiple historical periods. The artifacts were seized in November 2024, and their return was facilitated by collaboration between Chinese authorities, the Chinese Consulate in New York, and U.S. officials. This marks another milestone in cultural repatriation efforts following the 2024 renewal of a U.S.-China agreement on preventing illicit artifact trafficking.
