A recent survey by China Youth Daily and Wenjuan.com found that 90.3% of respondents choose nearby cities for weekend or short-holiday trips. Top factors include natural scenery (62.3%) and local food (56.3%). Many Chinese travelers prioritize ease, flexibility, and cultural experiences, with destinations typically reachable within three hours by car or train.
