Lei Jun Proposes: "Hands-Off and Eyes-Off" Driving to Be Classified as Traffic Violation

On March 4, Lei Jun, a deputy to the National People's Congress, submitted proposals to China's Two Sessions covering areas such as intelligent manufacturing, tech-driven public welfare, and intelligent transportation. Among them, his intelligent transportation proposals drew widespread attention—he called for unifying technical standards for intelligent vehicles, optimizing driving test content, classifying "hands-off and eyes-off" behavior in L2 assisted driving as a traffic violation, and urged clarifying safety guidelines for L3/L4 autonomous driving and standardizing automakers' promotional practices.(Photo by Li Junhui/ China Youth Daily)
