Evan Kail, the American former pawnshop owner who donated a WWII photo album with evidence of Japan's invasion of China to China for free, announced his permanent settlement in China via a social media video on the evening of March 15.
Kail made the donation in 2022 and subsequently endured prolonged online harassment and even death threats in the US because of it. He embarked on his first trip to China in November 2024, visiting some major cities to experience local culture, and was later invited to the stage of the 2025 Lunar New Year Gala. Currently, Kail runs accounts on multiple social platforms to share his experiences in China.
